Sacraments


The significant events in the lives of Catholics are celebrated within the community of the Church. These sacred moments are celebrated as Sacraments. The Sacraments come from Christ and celebrate in symbol and ritual the Christian identity of those who come to Christ in faith. The Sacraments build up the Christian community and celebrate different aspects of its identity in Christ as it is healed, sustained, forgiven and called to service. (Awakenings p.111)

 

There are seven sacraments in the Church: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage and Holy Orders.

 

The St. Peter’s Parish/St. Michael’s School Sacramental Program for 2018 commences in Term 1 with our first parent information session for Reconciliation. The Sacramental Program is Family based, School coordinated and Parish supported. Children and families are invited to participate in the Sacramental Program according to the following schedule:

 

Grade 4: Sacrament of Reconciliation                                      March 2018

Grade 4: Sacrament of First Eucharist                                      June 2018

Grade 4: Sacrament of Confirmation                                        November 2018
